A Guide to Our WellDuct® System
Water has a way of infiltrating below-grade spaces, particularly through windows. Most basement windows are made of steel or wood, which are susceptible to aging. Over time, these materials rust or decay, creating the perfect opportunity for water to sneak inside.
Fortunately for homeowners, leaky windows have an easy fix. Master Services recommends our WellDuct® Basement Window System, which redirects water to either a perimeter drain or dry well.
Here's how we do it:
- Install A Perimeter Drain or Drywell: We recommend that water from your WellDuct® be directed into a French drain system or else a small dry well, which we can create.
- Create A Drainage Channel: We will create a small hole beneath the window. A PVC pipe, along with a grated opening on the outside of the pipe, will be installed to prevent clogs. A polymer will be injected around the outer edge of the pipe to ensure it's kept in place.
- Direct Water Into Your Perimeter Drainage System: A plastic fitting will be placed on your inside basement wall, directing water into your perimeter drain or dry well. The top of the drain is sealed off with polymer.
- Seal The Drain: Polymer is used to seal the edge of the plastic fitting to the wall.
