Recently, members of the Master Foundation & Crawl Space Repair team had the opportunity to partner with Special Spaces for a bedroom makeover for a local Knoxville family. Special Spaces is an organization dedicated to creating dream bedrooms for children facing cancer and other serious illnesses, giving them a space where they can rest, play, and simply be a kid.

This project centered around 12-year-old Daniel and his younger sister, Emma. Daniel is battling Spindle Cell Neoplasm and loves music, playing guitar and saxophone, video games, and early 2000s alternative rock. With those interests in mind, the team worked together to help create a bedroom that felt completely his own. Emma also received a transformed space designed especially for her.

Over the course of just a few days, volunteers came together to paint, clean, assemble furniture, hang decorations, set up technology, and take care of all the little details that brought the rooms to life. It was truly a team effort, with everyone jumping in wherever they were needed.

While seeing the finished spaces was exciting, the best part of the entire project was watching Daniel and his family experience the rooms for the first time.

Master Services Provides Foster Children with Christmas Cheer

Master Services collected donations and employees are shopping for gifts for 40 foster children of the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. The children, who range in age from 12 to 17, are in the system but unable to be placed in traditional foster homes. Customer Care Specialists Amber Peters and Maggie Jackson, who organized the initiative, collected the children’s wish lists and distributed them to participating team members.

According to Peters, “Without gifts or monetary contributions, the children of the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home wouldn’t have a Christmas. We’re excited to provide them with as much holiday cheer as we can.”

The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home is “…a private, faith-based, non-profit, multi-service agency that provides care, love, and healing to children and youth who have no one else to advocate for or care for them.” To provide them with a merry Christmas, members of the Master Services team sponsored a child, made monetary donations, shopped, or participated in internal auctions to raise money for gifts. The team also collected toiletries and other necessities to send with the gifts. The company was able to provide gifts for every child in the program.

An internal employee appreciation committee worked for months to plan the event, adhering to CDC guidelines, which included a MEDIC Blood Drive, seminars from Jan Seiber, a nutritionist with UT Hospital, Elizabeth Hall with Food City and Erin Reed with the Knox County Health Department. Several area vendors set up informative and interactive booths including: TVA Credit Union, Knucklebusters Auto - Aamco in Powell, The Office of Neighborhood Empowerment, Morris Self Defense, Christy Lett with Arbonne, Knoxville Chiropractic Solutions, TN Bank Mortgage, Carin Brio- Attorney at Law, Garden Path School for Young Learners, Nicole Workman with Realty Executives and Parklane Jewelry, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Been There Done That Travel, First Bank, Amanda Woods with Pampered Chef, Within Holistic, Kat Van Dusen with Mary Kay, and Pure Acupuncture & Wellness.

Many of these professionals are members of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, Powell Business & Professional Association and North Knox Business & Professional Association. Each participant provided a wealth of information along with generous trinkets and door prizes for the Master Team staff. Staff volunteers were each given a “buddy” to shop with, children ranging from 2 months to 17 years old. Social distancing was observed, as the children were able to pick out clothes, toys and necessities for Christmas.

KNOXVILLE, TN – The professionals at Master Services, formerly Master Service Companies, are pleased to announce their new name and rebranding in 2020.

“Our look may be different,” said owner Larry Janesky, “but we remain your trusted source for basement waterproofing, crawl space repair, concrete repair, and foundation repair solutions.”

Founder Josh Smith left the company in August 2019 to pursue his passion for prison reform and philanthropy. After careful consideration, he passed the torch to Janesky, who has owned and operated companies in the crawl space repair, basement waterproofing, concrete repair, and foundation repair industries for over 30 years.

According to Janesky, “Passion, hard work, and integrity are essential to creating a business that safeguards homes and provides homeowners with peace of mind. The professionals at Master Services exemplify these principles, and we will continue to provide high-quality services to homeowners in East Tennessee.”

Master Service Company Hosts Grand Opening Night at New Facility

KNOXVILLE, TN - On October 28, 2016 from 3:00pm- 6:00pm, Master Service Companies hosted over 200 vendors, community members and employees at their Official Grand Opening Night, held at their new offices on Clinton Highway. The event was not only a celebration of their new state- of- the- art facility, but also the overwhelming support of their thriving community and clientele who have have helped them grow into the business they are today.

The event included speeches from leaders within the Knoxville community, tours of the new facility, a chance to get to know Master Service Company employees, and an opportunity to learn about products and services that have helped thousands of homeowners across East Tennessee. Food was provided by Shafer Insurance and drinks were provided by Merit Construction.

Honorary speakers included Master Service Companies Owner Josh Smith, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett, Restoration House Co- Founder Daniel Watson, Knoxville Chamber's Membership Development Manager Ashleigh Adkins, and Better Business Bureau’s incoming President Tony Binkley.

During his speech, Mayor Burchett spoke about the large role small businesses play in stimulating the economy.

“It’s always good to see a small business- especially a locally owned business- expand in growth,” Mayor Burchett said. “As mayor, working to encourage job growth is a top priority, and Master Service Companies is one of the fastest growing companies in our area.

Local Non- Profit Restoration House Co- Founder, Daniel Watson, spoke about Master Service Companies dedication to serving their community.

“Apart of who they are, and the DNA of this company is that they don’t just give back; it is a company that was designed with a double bottom- line. This company is not just about profit and the economics of the community, but it is also about how do we make and impact and how do we leave the community better than we found it.”

After moving to Knoxville eight years ago, the company has grown from fiveemployees to more than 80. After doubling revenue in the 2014 to 2015 fiscal year, they are projecting continued growth in 2016. With such high growth rates, the move from a 14,000 square foot facility to an over 50,000 square foot facility was more than essential. The new office space houses all divisions, including Master Dry and Master Concrete Services.

Master Service Companies is a locally owned and operated business who specializes in foundation, basement, crawlspace, and concrete repair. They have been serving the Knoxville area and surrounding community for nearly eight years.
