Job Stories From Anderson County, TN
Crawl Space in Clinton, TN Gets Much Needed Mold Remediation

Teresa F. of Clinton, TN noticed, to her dismay, that the beams supporting her crawl space had grown mold – and lots of it. Because she did not visit her crawl space often, the problem developed without her realizing. She knew that to maintain the stability of her house she needed to remove the mold or the beams would be subject to rot and decay. After searching companies within her area, she chose Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists and set up an appointment for a free inspection.

Crawl space expert Curtis Ward arrived at Teresa’s house and quickly identified the cause of the mold. Water leakage and exposure to the outside kept the space permanently damp, the ideal environment for mold. To remove the mold, Curtis explained that they first needed to get rid of the excess water and then encapsulate the space to keep it dry. Based on Curtis’ suggestions, foreman Tyler Smith and his team first installed a SmartDrain to clear the water away. He then used mold spray and a SaniDry CX dehumidifier to take care of the immediate problem – the mold. Finally, to keep the environment correctly conditioned, the team had to protect it from the outdoors. Vent covers and an EverLast door were put in place to cover all openings to the outside and insulate the crawl space. In the end, Teresa’s once wet and moldy crawl space was transformed into a healthy, dry environment.

Because of the work of Master Dry, Teresa can rest assured that her crawl space will not deteriorate and harm the integrity of the rest of her home.

Large Cracks Reveal Foundation Problems in Clinton, TN

Naomi B. of Clinton, TN had a beautiful home – except for one scary issue. Two long, parallel cracks formed in the wall of her basement. Because the home sits on a hill, Naomi suspected that foundation shifting might be the cause of the problem. A friend recommended Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists. Naomi was happy to discover that an expert would come out for free to inspect her home and give her a quote for the repairs.

Jake Smith arrived at her house for the evaluation and discovered that Naomi’s home was in fact in need of foundation repair. A few days later, foreman Cole Hyams and his team were ready to get started. They dug around the side and back of the house to access the concrete foundation below. Originally the team thought that the concrete would have to be restored or replaced. Insteadn, the crew was able to install push piers to lift the foundation back into place, stop it from shifting and transfer the weight of the house onto more stable ground. All in all, the project only took three days!

Naomi was thrilled that not only was the process less complex than everyone originally thought, but also that Jake, Cole and the team clearly had her best interests at heart. They did not sell her products that she did not need, and worked efficiently to install the ones she did. Naomi found a foundation specialist she can trust in Master Dry!

Foundation Wall Repair and Basement Waterproofing for this Clinton, TN Basement

Warren S.’s basement in his Clinton, TN home was literally coming apart at the seams. A long lateral crack in his basement wall meant that the wall had detached from the foundation of the house. As a result, water seeped in, causing an even bigger mess. Unsure of how much work it would take to fix the problem, Warren knew he needed to find a trustworthy local contractor. He came across the website for Master Services and decided to give them a call after reading positive reviews from other satisfied homeowners in his area.

Expert Josh Sulfridge conducted a free inspection and provided estimates to repair the foundation walls and remove the water from Warren’s basement. Foreman Michael Geasland and his crew started by installing the WaterGuard drainage system and SuperSump sump pump to remove standing water from the basement and keep it out! While the team was happy with their work, they also knew that without attacking the root of the problem – the basement wall – this victory could be short lived. Warren thus decided to tackle the second project as well. Soon after, foreman Josh Williams his team arrived to repair the walls. They used PowerBraces to bring the wall and the foundation back together, and to give it extra load-bearing support.

Warren was glad that Master Dry really cared about the outcome of the basement.  He knew he had made the right decision, both about completing all the recommended repairs and choosing Master Services to do them!

SmartJack Supports Help Restore This Oak Ridge, TN Crawl Space

Robert and Suzanne S. of Oak Ridge, TN originally hired Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists to clean up their dirty, moldy crawl space. During this job, the expert team also discovered a crack in the foundation. This was evidence that the support beams holding up the floor above the crawl space were not functioning adequately anymore, probably because mold and rot damage compromised the beams. The extra weight was distributed elsewhere, but no part of the structure could bear the load, which is why the wall cracked. Master Dry structural specialist Frank Yelencich suggested that Robert and Suzanne have these beams fixed to repair the integrity of their home.

Foreman Nick Crozier and his team installed SmartJack crawl space supports to reinforce the sagging beams and transfer the weight that they hold to stable ground, where the jacks are anchored. The crew also replaced a section of one of the beams entirely, as it was too rotted and no longer structurally sound.

Without Master Dry’s help, Robert and Suzanne may have never known about the structural problem in their crawl space. The homeowners are glad they contacted the company for the job, and plan to do so in the future if they ever come across another problem in their home!

Basement Waterproofing Strategy for Home in Oak Ridge, TN

Water damage and debris filled Michelle G.’s Oak Ridge, TN basement. She feared a long and painful repair process, but understood that a dry, healthy basement was vital to the overall health of her home. She wanted to make sure she hired the right contractor to restore her basement. After researching local companies, Michelle chose Master Dry because of their long-standing reputation as a trusted basement waterproofing company.

Master Dry basement waterproofing specialist Josh Sulfridge inspected the basement. He felt that in order to reverse the water damage and prevent its return, Michelle would need to invest in a high quality sump pump and a foolproof drainage system. Foreman Michael Geasland carried out these suggestions. He and his team installed a sump pump with a battery backup, called a SuperSump and an UltraSump, to efficiently and effectively remove water in the basement. And Michelle’s new WaterGuard drainage system and extra discharge lines ensured that all the water had enough outlets. Michelle could count on this integrated system to protect her home from harm!

Josh, Michael and the rest of the Master Dry team gave Michelle a dry, clean basement. But they also gave her the support and reassurance she needed to regain control of her home!

Soil Erosion Threatens Foundation of Oak Ridge, TN Home

Homeowner Ruth R. of Oak Ridge, TN realized she needed to call in a professional foundation repair contractor when she noticed the once-small crack in her back patio becoming bigger. Ruth decided to contact Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists via their website to schedule an appointment with an expert who could help. Structural specialist Scott Frazier inspected the property.

Foreman Josh Williams and his team executed the complex plan. There were several problems with the foundation that all needed to be fixed – otherwise Ruth could be in more trouble later on. Water was pooling beneath Ruth’s home and eroding the soil, meaning that the whole foundation was sitting on unstable ground. This water both above and below ground needed to be redirected away from the foundation. A gutter downspout extension and exterior waterproofing solved this part of the problem. The crew installed helical piers, push piers and slab jacks to lift the foundation back to its proper position.

In the end, taking that first step and contacting Master Dry was the best decision Ruth made for the safety and longevity of her home. Now she can help other overwhelmed homeowners by pointing them to the trusted source for foundation repair and waterproofing!

Encapsulating Crawlspaces in Rocky Top, TN

Alerted by Ezra T., our team visited a house in Rocky Top, TN, which experienced recurrent water infiltration in the crawlspace. Water seeped through the soil, especially after heavy rains, creating conditions conducive to mold growth and wooden beams decay if not addressed. To remedy this, our team installed our Clean Space Barrier, a multilayered resistant barrier that, once securely attached to the wall, allows any water or vapor infiltration to be collected by our perimeter drainage system called EZFlow, which prevents moisture from building up and causing damage. This solution not only prevents water damage in the basement but also improves air quality for the entire house. Additionally, we installed our Sedona dehumidifier, ensuring consistent humidity levels throughout the year. With both solutions in place, Ezra was very happy with the outcome.

Concerned about cracks appearing on the kitchen walls, she reached out to Master Services to help restore stability. Our team promptly responded and quickly identified the areas that needed immediate support. After our home inspector visited the house, our production crew installed five SmartJacks. Encapsulating Crawlspaces in Clinton, TN

Our team recently visited Jennifer B., a homeowner residing in Clinton, TN, whose crawlspace faced recurrent water infiltration and cold floors. With a goal of reducing energy expenses and enhancing property value, Jennifer sought to upgrade the crawlspace, previously encapsulated with low-quality materials by the home builder years ago.

Upon a thorough on-site inspection by our home inspector, we initiated the installation of our CleanSpace system—a robust, multilayered resistant barrier. Once securely in place, this system efficiently captures water or vapor infiltration, channeling it to our EZFlow perimeter drainage system. EZFlow redirects any water towards the sump pump for proper disposal.

In addition to addressing water issues, we implemented our SilverGlo system to enhance heat insulation. The reflective surface redirects heat back into the crawlspace, ensuring optimal energy savings. This comprehensive solution not only prevents water damage in the basement but also significantly enhances air quality throughout the entire house.

With this integrated system, Jennifer can now have confidence that her crawlspace is not only more energy-efficient but also protected against further deterioration. Jennifer is poised to witness improvements in her energy bills, achieving both comfort and cost savings with our tailored solution!
