A cabin rental company in Sevierville, TN contacted Master Services concerning a soil settling problem. The cabin, built on a steep hill, experienced downhill collapse over time. To address this issue, our team skillfully installed helical piers to reinforce the foundation, ensuring long-term stability and preventing further settling problems. Additionally, we utilized Poly-Lift to inject the sidewalk slab, providing both lifting and long-term support. This solution is well-suited for the clay-rich soil in the area and offers additional support. We accomplished this without any disruptive measures and within a reasonable timeframe.

In Sevierville, TN, a homeowner contacted Master Services due to concerns about noticeable sinking in their foundation wall. Following a thorough foundation assessment, our team concluded that soil erosion was the underlying cause of this issue. The cement slab supporting the house was subsiding due to the contraction of clay soil, a prevalent problem in this specific area of Tennessee. Neglecting this issue could potentially jeopardize the overall structural integrity of the residence.

To prevent further deterioration, we recommended the installation of helical piers, which are specifically designed to offer substantial foundation reinforcement, particularly within the local clay terrain. By implementing these helical piers, Master Services not only restored the homeowner's confidence but also ensured lasting stability and safeguarded their property.

Job Stories From Sevier County, TN
A Drainage System and Sump Pump Give this Crossville Homeowner Peace of Mind When it Rains

After a particularly heavy rainfall, Eugene H. of Crossville, TN, was shocked to find a small flood in his unfinished basement. In need of a waterproofing contractor in his area, Eugene decided to call Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists after seeing their booth at a local home improvement expo.

Master Dry’s waterproofing expert Frank Yelencich conducted an inspection of Eugene’s basement and provided him with a free estimate for suggested repairs. Foreman Michael Geasland soon arrived on the job to install a WaterGuard drainage system and a SuperSump sump pump to remove water and keep Eugene’s basement dry, even during periods of heavy rain. The crew also installed an IceGuard discharge line device to ensure that water would be able to drain out of the basement even if the pipes become frozen or blocked. This water is directed to a LawnScape outlet where it is carried away from the foundation to avoid further drainage issues and foundation damage.

Now when a storm hits the area, Eugene won’t have to run downstairs to check on his basement because he has a trusty waterproofing system to keep his home dry and healthy!

A Leaky Water Heater in Sevierville, TN Reveals Bigger Wet Basement Problems

Charles G. of Sevierville, TN knew he needed a new water heater. His old one had leaked everywhere, ruining the bottom of his basement walls and damaging the floor. Because of the amount of water damage in his basement, Charles knew that the source of the problem had to be bigger than just the leaky water heater. He contacted Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists, hoping they could fix all his problems. Waterproofing expert Curtis Ward arrived for a free inspection of Charles’s basement.

The homeowners’ fears were confirmed when Curtis examined the space. He saw two different areas spoiled by water leakage – one clearly from the water heater, but one from exterior water seeping in. First, Curtis suggested installing a FloodRing around the new water heater to prevent damage to the basement in the event that another leak occurred. A TrenchDrain system was installed to catch any water seeping in, and a WaterGuard drainage system would direct it to a TripleSafe sump pump for removal from the house. Finally, Curtis suggested BrightWall paneling for the walls. This waterproof material would make the whole basement look clean and attractive. Foreman Michael Geasland and his crew had finished the repairs and set up the new water heater faster than Charles ever imagined!

Fixing Foundation Problems in Sevierville, TN

Gerald M. of Sevierville, TN was faced with a big problem. Walking around the side and back of his home, he could see several stair-step cracks in the foundation. Entering into his crawl space told the same story – there were gaps big enough for him to fit his fingers in! Severely concerned about the state of his foundation, Gerald did a search for foundation repair contractors in his area, which brought him to the website for Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists. He set up an appointment right away with specialist Scott Frazier, who assessed the situation.

Foreman Josh Williams and his crew originally planned on installing nine push piers to lift the foundation and give it the extra support that it needed. As the job progressed, the team decided to replace a few push piers with helical piers that worked better for a lighter-weight section of the house. All in all, the piers were able to reach down far enough in the soil to transfer the weight of the structure to competent soil strata.

At the beginning of the project, the team estimated that the foundation had settled about four inches into the ground. But following the repairs, the huge cracks and gaps were completely brought together and no longer visible! Gerald could see the transformation before his eyes and was so pleased that his home was secure once again. Thanks to Master Dry, Gerald’s home is sitting on solid ground!

Mold Remediation and Encapsulation in Sevierville, TN

The crawlspace of this mountain cabin in Sevierville, TN was inundated with mold. When there’s too much moisture, mold can grow on wood and other organic material. Mold not only eats away at a home’s foundations, but ultimately costs money and can create breathing problems for occupants.

To rid the home of mold, Master Services used our effective soda blasting technique. This mold spray largely is comprised of baking soda, and it removes mold without harming the surface area. This concentrated disinfectant not only kills mold, but keeps it from growing back on certain areas.

The team also installed our CleanSpace liner, which insulates crawlspaces from the ground and helps prevent excess moisture. When a crawlspace is kept dry and insulated, mold doesn’t have an opportunity to take over.

Reinforcing a basement wall with wall braces in Pigeon Forge, TN

Matthew B. noticed some subtle cracks on one of his basement walls and knew that if left untreated, the issue could only worsen over time. Understanding that a solution was needed, he promptly called Master Services. Once we set up an appointment, one of our knowledgeable home inspectors visited his basement and identified the underlying issues.

Over time, the pressure of the water outside the basement walls was pushing inside, creating these fractures on the wall. We recommended the installation of I-Beam Wall Braces, which stabilized the wall by connecting it to the stable soil in its surroundings, thereby adding substantial support to the overall structural integrity of the house. The entire procedure was executed efficiently, causing minimal disruption to both the interior and exterior of the property.

SmartJacks supported a floor in Seymour, TN

Responding to a call from Joseph and Hanna D., a couple residing in Seymour, TN, who had seen the successful encapsulation of their neighbor's crawlspace last year, our team at Master Services was summoned to help restore stability to their living room floors. Having been referred by their neighbor, they reached out to us, seeking assistance. Following a comprehensive inspection by our home inspector, our production crew swiftly went to work, installing six SmartJacks. Specifically designed for installation in tight spaces, such as this crawlspace, these devices were strategically placed after digging necessary holes and creating a stable base. The process also involved meticulously leveling the jacks. With the SmartJacks in place, Joseph and Hanna can now rest assured that their living room floor won't experience any further sinking, providing them with the peace of mind they were seeking.

Cement Patio restored in Seymour, TN

Benjamin K., the owner of a beautiful B&B in Seymour, TN, noticed some cracks developing in his side patio's cement floor. Over time, he observed the cement sinking, especially after heavy rainfall. Concerned about the potential worsening of the issue, he promptly reached out to Master Services. After scheduling an appointment, one of our home inspectors visited his property and identified the cause of the sinking: poor soil compacting coupled with hardening of the cement. Poor soil compacting weakened the foundation, leading to the gradual sink of the concrete above.

Fortunately, we provided a prompt and effective solution using our innovative PolyLyft method. PolyLyft is specifically designed for elevating and leveling various surfaces, including sunken concrete slabs. This process involves injecting a specially formulated expanding foam beneath the affected area, gently raising the sunken slab back to its original position. Unlike traditional methods like complete concrete replacement, PolyLyft offers a cost-effective and enduring solution.

Now, Benjamin's B&B guests can enjoy his back patio even during harsh weather conditions, with the settling issue effectively addressed.
