Concrete Walkway Repair - Clintwood, VA
Challenge
In downtown Clintwood, Virginia, a well-used walkway between two commercial buildings had become uneven due to soil settlement beneath the concrete slabs. The uneven joints and sinking sections created a clear tripping hazard and posed safety concerns for both pedestrians and property owners. Given the walkway’s central location and daily foot traffic, a solution was needed that wouldn’t involve lengthy closures or the cost and mess of full concrete replacement.
Solution
Our team used a high-density structural foam injection method to lift and level the settled concrete. After identifying the affected areas, we drilled small holes in the slab and carefully injected the material beneath the surface. As the foam expanded, it filled underlying voids and gently raised the concrete to its original height—restoring proper alignment and slope toward the existing drain.
This method allowed us to stabilize the slab with minimal disruption. Once the leveling was complete, we sealed the joints and cleaned the surface, leaving the walkway looking clean and even—ready for use just hours after completion.
The result was a smooth, stabilized walkway that looks and functions like new. The area is now safer for pedestrians and visually improved, and the project was completed without major interruption to the surrounding businesses. The property owners were pleased with the quick turnaround and effective results, and the community can now enjoy a safer route through downtown Clintwood.
