Wall Repair in Ooltewah
Challenge
This Ooltewah, TN homeowner began noticing signs of foundation distress in their finished basement, where one of the poured concrete foundation walls was bowing inward under long-term soil pressure. In a finished basement, wall movement is especially concerning because it can compromise interior finishes, reduce usable space, and worsen over time if left unaddressed. Exterior soil expansion, hydrostatic pressure, and natural settling can all contribute to this type of structural movement, making it critical to stabilize the wall before cracks widen or further displacement occurs.
Solution
Master Foundation & Crawl Space Repair stabilized the affected wall using eight GeoLock® wall anchors with 12” x 18” steel wall plates, a proven solution designed to permanently counteract inward pressure from the surrounding soil. Each anchor was strategically installed to transfer the force away from the foundation wall and into stable soil outside the home, gradually pulling the wall back toward its original position while preventing further movement. To complete the installation safely, our team removed existing steps to allow proper access and placement. With the GeoLock® system in place, the basement wall is now structurally supported and protected against future soil pressure, giving the homeowner long-term stability and peace of mind while preserving the integrity of their finished basement.
