Crawl Space Structural Repair & Concrete Lifting in Cleveland, TN
Challenge
This Cleveland, Tennessee homeowner was experiencing issues commonly caused by an aging crawl space foundation. Uneven and sagging floors inside the home were a clear sign that the floor system below was no longer receiving adequate support. In addition, areas of exterior concrete had settled and cracked over time, creating uneven surfaces and increasing the risk of water pooling near the foundation. Left unaddressed, these conditions can worsen, leading to structural stress, interior floor damage, and long-term foundation concerns.
Solution
To stabilize the home and restore proper support, Master Foundation & Crawl Space Repair implemented a comprehensive repair plan that addressed both the crawl space structure and the exterior concrete. Inside the crawl space, SmartJack® support posts were installed to lift and stabilize sagging floor joists. These adjustable steel posts provide permanent support and allow for fine adjustments over time, helping bring floors back toward their original position. A steel supplemental beam was added to evenly distribute the home’s weight across the support system, while joist assist brackets reinforced weakened floor framing.
Outside the home, settled concrete surfaces were repaired using PolyLevel® concrete lifting, which involves injecting high-density polyurethane foam beneath the slab. As the material expands, it fills voids, lifts the concrete back into place, and stabilizes the soil below. Cracks in the concrete were sealed using NexusPro® crack repair, a flexible sealant that helps prevent water intrusion and future crack expansion. To protect the repaired concrete long-term, a Concrete Protection Program was applied to reduce moisture penetration, surface wear, and damage from freeze-thaw cycles.
With these systems working together, the home now has improved structural support, more level and solid floors, and safer, more stable concrete surfaces around the property. Addressing both the crawl space and exterior concrete issues together helped create a stronger foundation and lasting peace of mind for the homeowner.
